How Batteries Leak

In our house, our batteries leak so I told my Mom about it after I ate my breakfast today why they do. So let me tell you why. The reason is, there is zinc in batteries. So it makes electrons which come from the negative part of the battery. Then they go all the way to the circuit and travels to the positive part of the battery. It then mixes and turns into hydrogen gas which mixes with oxygen then turns into water. Because hydrogen  plus oxygen equals water. Then when the battery holds too much water than the amount of water it can hold, then it leaks.
